- By Plane - Cancun International Airport is the main airport in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo and where most visitors will fly in. From the Cancun airport, it's about a 90-minute drive south on the main highway to Tulum. One can either take private bus transportation, public bus transportation or rent a car.
- Private Option - Cancun Airport Transportation is a convenient and safe private option that will pick you up directly at the airport and drop you off straight to your hotel. They offer both one-way transportation or roundtrip and are the fastest option if you want to land and go.
- Public Bus from Cancun or Playa Del Carmen - Depending on where you are, these two cities are Quintana Roo's main transport junction. Alternatively, one can take the local bus, ADO. Double check on your trip dates and flight schedule as there may or may not be a direct ADO bus from Cancun Airport to Tulum. If there isn't a direct option, you can take the bus route to Playa del Carmen and transfer.
- Rent a car - This is also a stress-free option if you're the type of person to take your time in exploring. If you personally do not want to drive, taxis are fairly easy to come by, and accept both U.S. dollars and Mexican pesos—but you're likely to get the best deal paying in pesos.
